Andy Murray, currently ranked world number 2, beat Novak Djokovic in three straight sets 6-4, 7-5, 6-4 to lift the Wimbledon trophy this year.

This is the first time in 77 years that a Briton has won the Championships.

Andy Murray had made it to the final in Wimbledon in 2012 as well, losing to Roger Federer.

This is Murray’s second Grand Slam after the 2012 US open. Murray also won the gold medal in last year’s London Olympics.
