World No. 5 Casper Ruud had a lighthearted moment after winning the 10th ATP singles title of his career. The Norwegian joked about getting a Porsche as a winner's gift after winning the Estoril Open title.

Ruud defeated Miomir Kecmanovic, 6-2, 7-6(3), in the summit clash to win the title in Portugal. While receiving the trophy, Casper Ruud joked that he heard a rumor that the winner would be getting a Porsche car.

"Porsche as well, very nice cars, I heard some rumors that the winner will get the car, no, is that true?" he said.

The 24-year-old added that the chance of winning the Porsche gave him extra motivation.

"I don't know; earlier this week I heard some rumors, I am not sure. It gave me some motivation to do well this week," Ruud added.

Interestingly, Casper Ruud is a brand ambassador for Porsche and is a car aficionado.

Casper Ruud has had an underwhelming start to the season. His title-winning run at the Estoril Open was the first time he progressed beyond the Round of 16 of a tournament this year.

At the trophy ceremony, the two-time Grand Slam finalist reflected on his first title of the season. He touched upon the fact that he last won a title in July 2022, when he beat Matteo Berrettini to win the Swiss Open.

“I feel great. It’s my first time in Estoril and first time lucky, I guess. To be here with the trophy this Sunday is very special. It’s been quite some months since I won my last title, so it’s very important.”

The 2022 French Open finalist also spoke about the fans and his experience of playing in Portugal. He thanked the fans for supporting him throughout the tournament.

“I felt great. All my stay was great [with the] fans, great stadium, great atmosphere on this court. It was full every time that I was on the court it was a full stadium so thank you to everyone who is here today and also during the week," Casper Ruud added.

Ruud will next be in action at the Monte-Carlo Masters. The Norwegian received a bye in the first round and will kick off his campaign on April 11.
