U.S Core Hydration Classic 2024: Top Gymnasts to watch out for ft. Simone Biles and Gabby Douglas

With the 2024 Paris Olympics drawing near, the top American gymnasts will go head-to-head at the U.S Core Hydration Classic 2024. The Core Hydration Classic will be held at the XL Center, an Arena in Hartford, Connecticut.

The two-day event is set to be held on May 17 and 18, 2024. Day 1 of the Core Hydration Classic will feature the Hopes Championships and Junior Women's events. Day 2 of the event will witness the events for senior women.

The competition will serve as the final qualifying event for the 2024 Xfinity U.S Gymnastics Championship slated for May 30-June 2 in Fort Worth, Texas. On that note, let's take a look at the top five athletes that will display a thrilling showdown.

#1 Simone Biles will compete at the 2024 U.S Core Hydration Classic

The legendary American gymnast Simone Biles will be seen headlining the 2024 U.S. Core Hydration Classic. The seven-time Olympic and 30-time world championships medalist will compete in Connecticut ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

She secured four Olympic gold medals at the 2016 Rio Olympics. At the last Olympics in Japan, she secured a silver medal in the team event and a bronze medal in the balance beam event before withdrawing from the competition to focus on her mental health.

#2 Gabby Douglas will compete at the 2024 U.S Core Hydration Classic, serving as the last qualifying chance for the U.S. nationals

Gabby Douglas made her return to the sport at the American Classic after a long hiatus of nearly eight years. Douglas was supposed to compete at the Winter Cup but had to withdraw after testing positive for COVID-19. She competed in multiple events at the 2024 American Classic but couldn't quite make the comeback fans were waiting for.

The 2024 U.S Core Hydration Classic is her last opportunity to qualify for the U.S. nationals and ultimately for the Paris Olympics.

#3 Kayla DiCello

Kayla DiCello showed her gymnastics prowess at the 2024 Winter Cup in Kentucky. She dominated the 2024 Winter Cup after posting a score of 56.860, leaving behind Skye Blakely and Hezly Rivera.

She scored 14.300 points on the uneven bars and the balance beam event. She secured three gold medals at the 2023 Pan American Games, including team, all-around, and floor exercise.

#4 Suni Lee will compete at the U.S Core Hydration Classic following her subpar return at the Winter Cup

Suni Lee made her return to the sport at the 2024 Winter Cup after navigating through kidney issues for a brief period. She aimed at getting an element named after her but met with challenges on the uneven bars and the balance beam.

Lee has her sights focused on repeating her all-around 2020 Olympic glory in Paris and will be seen competing at the 2024 U.S. Core Hydration Classic as the stepping stone towards achieving it.

#5 Shilese Jones will lock horns with Olympians at the 2024 U.S Core Hydration Classic

The 2023 Pan American gold medalist in team Shilese Jones will compete against the above-mentioned athletes in Connecticut. Apart from her gold medal, she also secured two bronze medals in individual all-around and uneven bars.
