New GM Announced

- New GM announced for SmackDown: WWE Superstar Zack Ryder won a 20-man “Great American Bash Battle Royal” on Smackdown special (03 July 2012) to become the acting General Manager of Smackdown next Friday night! The match included stars from both Raw and Smackdown, such as John Cena, Daniel Bryan, and WWE Champion CM Punk.

The acting General Manager for the upcoming edition of Raw Supershow has not yet been announced.

- WWE DVD Updates: According to PWTorch, WWE is currently in production on a New World Order DVD set, expected to be released this November. It will follow the original formation of the NWO, all the way through their arrival in the WWE.

Amazon.com recenlty updated its WWE pre-order selection, including several new “Superstar Collection” DVDs. The “Superstar Collection” sets for John Cena and Zack Ryder are scheduled for release on July 10, Sheamus and Daniel Bryan on August 7, and finally Randy Orton and Kofi Kingston on September 4th.

“WWE: The 50 Greatest Finishing Moves in WWE History” is also available for pre-order through Amazon, and will hit stores August 21st on DVD and Blu-ray.

- Injury Update on Sheamus: WWE posted the following injury update on World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus after last night’s live SmackDown:

“CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus is being evaluated by WWE medical personnel, following Alberto Del Rio’s vicious assault during SuperSmackDown LIVE: The Great American Bash.

Del Rio – who is known for his flashy ring entrance behind the wheel of a luxury automobile – instead used his car hood to batter The Great White during an intense brawl between the SmackDown rivals.

Sheamus was treated for head contusions and lacerations to the head, rendering him unable to compete in The Great American Bash 20-Man Battle Royal. It remains to be seen what effect this will have on his World Heavyweight Title defense against Del Rio in less than two weeks at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view.”

- What Happened after Super SmackDown ? : WWE’s website posted video of what happened after last night’s Super SmackDown in Corpus Christi, Texas. John Cena came back out to congratulate Zack Ryder on winning the Great American Bash Battle Royal. The two celebrated to end the show.

- Ryder reacts: As seen on SmackDown, Zack Ryder won the Great American Bash Battle Royal and will be next week’s SmackDown General Manager. Ryder reacted on Twitter:

“I just won the battle royal on SmackDown! I’m gonna be the General Manager next week! I’m serious bro! #WWWYKI The Broski is back! There is no stopping the Ryder Revolution!”

- Undetaker Returns at Survivor Series ? : WWE’s creative department are targeting Survivor Series on November 18 for the return of The Undertaker.After undergoing two major surgeries in the past year and performing suitably at WrestleMania XXVIII, many company employees believe he has several more matches left in the tank and will almost certainly compete at WrestleMania XXIX.

- Spider Man inspired by Masked Luchadors: In The Amazing Spider-Man, which hit theaters Tuesday, Peter Parker is inspired to create a mask after winding up inside a wrestling ring surrounded by posters of masked luchadors. It is not the first wrestling connection in the movie franchise as in the premiere film released in 2002, Peter enters a wrestling tournament and squares off against a character portrayed by the late Randy Savage.

- Kharma ready to Return: Kharma, who has not appeared for WWE since the Royal Rumble, is ready to return to the ring and waiting to be reintroduced on television. Many of her Diva peers are frustrated with her absence from television.
