5 surprising things WWE hinted at this week

What role will Dean Ambrose play at WrestleMania 35?
What role will Dean Ambrose play at WrestleMania 35?

WWE did quite a number of interesting things this week on Raw and Smackdown Live, but some instances kind of stood out among others. In fact, there were several storyline developments this week that have very big implications for the future of the company and The Road to WrestleMania 35, which make them all the more fun to ponder.

With that being said and WrestleMania 35 coming quickly, one has to wonder where WWE is going with several of their biggest storylines. Furthermore, one has to wonder that if the hints WWE seemingly placed for fans this week will lead to things that are rewarding or things that the audience doesn't care about.

Now whether any of these plans even pan out or not remains to be seen and will depend on WWE's booking over the course of the next couple months, but these five things were at least hinted at this week. As always, let us know your thoughts about all of this in the comments below and let us know what you think WWE was hinting at on Raw and Smackdown Live.

#5 Dean Ambrose costing Brock Lesnar the title

Could Dean Ambrose do the unthinkable at WrestleMania 35?
Could Dean Ambrose do the unthinkable at WrestleMania 35?

And just like that, Dean Ambrose ends his rivalry with Seth Rollins.

At least that's the way it seems after The Lunatic Fringe wished Seth Rollins luck in slaying the beast, but does that mean that Ambrose will be involved somehow? While it might not seem like it right now, especially with his lacklustre feud with EC3 right now, could WWE use Ambrose as a way to make sure Rollins doesn't win clean?

Think about it! Brock Lesnar rarely takes a clean loss these days and while Rollins defeating the beast fair and square would be amazing, it might not be realistic enough. Unfortunately for fans that want to see a clean win, that means WWE will likely use Ambrose or some other outside factor to make sure Lesnar finally drops the belt.

#4 The New Day character change

Are The New Day turning their back on the power of positivity?

There's something going on with The New Day

Not only is that evident by Kofi Kingston taking the other five competitors in The Elimination Chamber to their limits during a gauntlet match, but also by his mannerisms throughout the contest. Interestingly enough, this could be a sign of major changes to The New Day stable and maybe even the start of them being taken seriously again.

In fact, between Kofi Kingston's rarapid-fire offence, Big E Langston's pure strength and Xavier Woods quickness, The New Day have all the parts necessary for a heel stable. Of course, WWE might not want to go ahead with that plan, especially since the group is a top merchandise seller, but its easy to see that something is in the works here.

In the end, The WWE doing something new with The New Day is a welcomed change from what they have been doing over the past couple of months. Furthermore, they've accomplished just about everything there is to for a babyface midcard stable, which is why big changes can and should be on the horizon for the team.

#3 Multi women match for Asuka at WM35

What is WWE doing with Asuka?

The Empress of tomorrow defeated Becky Lynch to retain her Smackdown Live Women's title, but has not been seen or heard from since. Furthermore, WWE seemingly hasn't dropped the slightest hint about who she will be facing at WrestleMania 35, which is also troubling given the lack of depth on the roster.

With that being said and time running out for WWE to set up any kidn of dream match, it seems like the company is going to try a multi women match for Asuka. Maybe they bring back the championship scramble or just make it a multi women pinfall match. The only thing they have to do is have Asuka conquer the rest of the field and it will be serviceable.

In the end, its going to pale in comparison to what WWE is doing with Ronda Rousey versus Becky Lynch versus Charlotte and the company needs to stop wasting their time trying ot make it a blockbuster. If nothing else, the company could just focus on showcasing Asuka's speed, agility and killer instinct in a multi women match for the title.

#2 Vince McMahon becoming a permanent fixture on tv

Looks like Vince McMahon will be back on television for a while.
Looks like Vince McMahon will be back on television for a while.

Vince McMahon returned to television for the first time in over a month and its got a lot of fans wondering if he will become a permanent fixture on television over the next couple of weeks. Of course, that seems to be the way WWE is going with this, especially after McMahon took lynch out of the main event of WrestleMania 35, but it will still be interesting to see how it plays out.

With that being said and this feud now being compared to that of Vince McMahon versus Stone Cold Steve Austin, it seems likely that McMahon will be making regular appearances on television leading up to WrestleMania 35. It also seems clear that Lynch and McMahon are on a collision course with each other, which will be interesting to watch play out.

Whether it actually turns out to be the next Vince McMahon versus Stone Cold Steve Austin remains to be seen and will depend on several factors, but it honestly feels like this is the closest the company has come to it in a long time. It also feels as if this could be Vince McMahon's last run on television, making this storyline even more important to the future of WWE.

#1 Triple H and Stephanie Mcmahon versus Vince McMahon

Will Stephanie McMahon and Triple H prevail against Vince McMahon?
Will Stephanie McMahon and Triple H prevail against Vince McMahon?

Will Triple H and Stephanie McMahon be going head to head against Vince McMahon over the next couple of weeks? While the trio originally did a promo talking about what was best for business and giving the fans what they want, Vince McMahon has seemingly strayed from that promise by taking Becky Lynch out of The Raw Women title match at WrestleMania 35

Whether this actually results in some kind of power struggle between Vince McMahon and Triple H remains to be seen, nut one has to admit it would be a very interesting layer to attach to The Becky Lynch feud right now. Beyond that, it could also create real-life implications for the company going forward if done right.

In the end, McMahon versus McMahon has a way of overshadowing everything else, but this time it doesn't seem like it. In fact, this time, it honestly feels like WWE can pull off a Triple H versus Vince McMahon storyline without overshadowing Lynch's feud. Maybe WWE can even add some kind of stipulation to the match that holds the power of the company in the balance?

Wouldn't that be an awesome main event?
