CM Punk with UFC announcer Joe Rogan

As noted earlier, CM Punk has signed a deal with the UFC after he revealed it himself to announcer Joe Rogan last night. Punk said, “I have a limited window like all fighters do, and I’m here for a fight. This is my new career 100%.”

Punk also mentioned that he will most likely be fighting at middleweight or welterweight, but he will not be fighting at the light heavyweight division. UFC President Dana White posted the following on social media, welcoming Punk to the company.

PWInsider has reported that Dana White and Punk have been in talks for some time and a deal was in the works before this weekend despite White mentioning that they both would be discussing the possibility of Punk joining UFC at this weekend at UFC 181.

Punk stated at the event that he will be figuring out a training camp soon and has made several inquiries already. He will speak more about coming to UFC on the FOX Sports 1 post-show on Sunday night.

As noted, Punk will be fighting at middleweight or welterweight. And he already has UFC fighter Michael Bisping’s attention who is a middleweight himself. After hearing the news he tweeted the following about Punk.
