Is WWE re-signing former US and Intercontinental Champion?, MVP backstage at NOC, more

WWE might re-sign Carlito in order to bolster their presence in the Hispanic market

- We all remember Carlito—the apple-biting, colorful trunks wearing, Caribbean King of Cool from his stint in the WWE between 2004 and 2010. When Carlito, real name Carly Colon, was released from his contract for a violation of the company's drug testing program and subsequent refusal to attend a rehabilitation facility for a reported addiction to painkillers, many doubted the possibility we'd see his lively character back in a WWE ring anytime soon.

But according to former WWE creative writer Court Bauer and Konnan on MLW Radio, perhaps a return to the company may be on the cards for Colon in the near future. It’s no secret that WWE has been looking for a Hispanic star to help expand into that market, and Carlito could be the guy they are bringing in for that purpose. But before fans of the Bad Apple get their hopes up though, it is also noted that Colon is enjoying his time wrestling independent circuits and also works for his father’s WWC promotion in Puerto Rico. We might see Caribbean King of Cool persist with his individual aspirations. He was last seen on WWE TV at the 2014 Hall of Fame ceremony where his father Carlos Colon was inducted.

It’s been reported on numerous occasions how WWE officials are looking to bring aboard more Hispanic stars, especially following the departures of key figures in Rey Mysterio and Alberto Del Rio. Also there are no Hispanic talents currently training at the WWE Performance Center.

- Former TNA star and WWE United States Champion Montel Vontavious Porter, better known as MVP was backstage at tonight’s Night of Champions pay-per-view in Houston, where he lives. MVP has not been with WWE since leaving in 2010. Since his departure he has worked in New Japan Pro Wrestling and TNA. MVP left TNA earlier this year and was backstage at Night of Champions as it took place in his hometown of Houston.

Another star backstage was former WCW star and Harlem Heat member Stevie Ray. He also lives in the area, runs Reality of Wrestling with Booker T and is signed to a WWE Legends Deal.
