Talking Smack Review 18 April, 2017

Jinder Mahal put himself over as the American Dream on Talking Smack

Talking Smack started off with host Renee Young welcoming Smackdown LIVE Commissioner Shane McMahon to the panel. The duo informed us that General Manager Daniel Bryan was with his wife Brie Bella, as they were getting ready to welcome their first born baby girl.

Renee started the show talking about the new opportunities being given out to the roster and Shane pointed out that Smackdown LIVE was indeed the ‘Land of Opportunities’ and he applauded Charlotte for making full use of the opportunity given to her.

#1 Jinder Mahal

Jinder Mahal was the first guest on the show this week. The new number one contender for the WWE Championship mentioned that he worked hard for the opportunity and defeated five of the best competitors of the blue brand ‘all by himself’ to get a title shot.

The scene cut to footage of the Bollywood Boyz helping Jinder pick up the win. Jinder stated that people should focus on giving him the respect that he deserves rather than looking at who helped him win.

Mahal claimed that he would become the new ‘American Dream’ after he won the WWE Championship from Randy Orton. Renee pointed out that Jinder still had a lot of time to prepare for his match because Orton still has to face Bray Wyatt in the House of Horrors match.

Shane asked Mahal how it felt to stare at a multiple time champion like Randy Orton. Mahal said that he sensed fear in Randy’s eyes.

Jinder left the panel and Shane went on to say that Dusty Rhodes was the American Dream. However, he acknowledged the fact that Jinder was making use of the opportunities that were afforded to him in the blue brand.

They duo of Shane and Renee also spoke of Kevin Owens enhancing his attitude and making use of the situation in team blue.

#2 The Colóns

Primo and Epico joined the panel next and Renee commended them for their win over American Alpha earlier in the night. Primo stated that this was not a popularity contest and Epico jibed in saying that they were no strangers to winning championships in the WWE.

They talked about the rich wrestling heritage of the Colón family and made sure Shane was aware of the pedigree that they brought to the ring. Shane once again put Smackdown LIVE over as the ‘Land of Opportunities’, urging them to grab hold of the chances that came their way.

The Colón brothers claimed that they were not on SmackDown to kiss babies and make friends, but to win Championships, and made their exit.

Renee claimed with excitement that the Superstars Shakeup changed the paradigm of Smackdown and added that she was looking forward to seeing Lana make an impact on the blue brand too. Renee then welcomed the new number one contender to the Women’s Championship, Charlotte Flair.

#3 Charlotte Flair

Shane congratulated Charlotte on pinning the Women’s Champion earlier in the evening to get a shot at the title. He said that he was impressed by Charlotte’s grit to enter the main event scene just seven days after she jumped ship to Smackdown LIVE.

Charlotte claimed that no one could outwork her in either brand and she would have the Smackdown Women’s Championship around her waist next week. Charlotte acknowledged that fact that Naomi was an impressive athlete but she put herself over as the ‘Dirtiest Player in the Game’ and promised that she would find a way to win.

As Charlotte left the panel, Renee discussed how Charlotte has always reinvented herself to adjust to the situation. Shane told Renee not to underestimate Naomi. He then stated that Naomi brought some moves to the ring that surprised even a pedigreed worker like Charlotte.

Renee then closed the show with the promise of more high-octane clashes in the coming weeks.
