What's the story?

Kevin Owens shocked the world when he took his aggressions cornering the McMahon family out on Vince. After a ruthless headbutt and an assault afterwards, McMahon was battered and bloody. Owens recently spoke to The Pueblo Chieftain about how much it meant to him to be in the ring with The Chairman Of The Board.

In case you didn't know...

Kevin Owens and Shane McMahon have been going back-and-forth recently. In Owens' eyes, Shane is the reason why he's not the United States Champion and he took his frustrations out on the Boss's son.

Shane ended up beating the Prize Fighter all over the ring and across the announce table after Owens took a verbal cheap shot on McMahon's kids, leading the Quebec native to threaten a lawsuit. Vince McMahon appeared on the following episode of SmackDown and made the Hell In A Cell match between Shane McMahon and Kevin Owens.

The heart of the matter

Before the closing moments of the segment, Owens received permission from Vince to take care of any McMahon in his way. It looked like Vince was in Kevin's way because he destroyed McMahon with a stiff headbutt causing Vince to bleed.

Kevin landed a few punches, a superkick, and a bullfrog splash to cap off the onslaught on the 72-year-old McMahon.

KO might have seemed hardened and cruel during his segment in Las Vegas with Vince McMahon, but when he spoke to The Pueblo Chieftain, Owens acknowledged how special of a moment it was for him to share a ring with Vince McMahon, saying:

"That was my first time being in the ring with Vince McMahon. For a lifelong WWE fan, it was pretty special -- defiantly a moment in my career I never really thought would happen and one that I will remember for a very long time... and one I think Vince will remember as well."

What's next?

Kevin Owens has enraged Shane McMahon at this point and we all know what Shane's capable of. Their match at Hell In A Cell is likely to headline the event, and given the time we have leading up to the big Detroit PPV, there will be plenty more time for things to heat up even more.

Author's take

Kevin Owens is fantastic and deserves this program. Hopefully, this will further solidify Owens' place on top of the roster.

Shane McMahon and Kevin Owens will also probably put on an amazing Hell In A Cell match and McMahon is likely to find something very tall to fall off of in the process. They just need to figure out a logical reason why they'd end up on top of the cell.
