WWE News: Women's Money in the Bank qualifying match set for SmackDown Live

Sonya Deville to be given another opportunity to qualify for the MITB match
Sonya Deville to be given another opportunity to qualify for the MITB match

What's the story?

Absolution's move to SmackDown Live sparked a couple of questions, with the main one being, how would Paige treat her former stable members as the new General Manager of SmackDown Live? The answer was, just like anybody else, and her latest match announcement as General Manager proves it.

In case you didn't know...

On the last SmackDown Live, both Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville had an opportunity to qualify for the Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match at the MITB PPV, in a Triple Threat match against Becky Lynch. However, the former teammates would end up costing each other the match, allowing Lynch to pick up the win and a spot in the match for the coveted briefcase.

The heart of the matter

Paige has been tough on her former teammates, who expected to just be placed in the match due to their relationship. However, she showed impartiality and put them in the Triple Threat Match against Becky Lynch, a match which Lynch would win. Deville took to social media to demand another opportunity.

It seems that Paige is willing to give in to Sonya's demands and give her a second chance to qualify, but once again it's not being handed to her. Deville will have to face the Women's WrestleMania Battle Royal winner Naomi and earn her spot.

What's next?

Charlotte and Becky Lynch have already qualified for the match on the SmackDown Live side, with Ember Moon and Alexa Bliss qualifying from Raw. Clearly, there's already a wealth of talent involved in the match but the addition of Naomi or Deville will definitely help.

Author's take

Personally, I'd like to see Naomi qualify for SmackDown Live to round out the trio of Charlotte and Becky Lynch that have been the 'good women' of the brand. I think it would be an interesting dynamic to pit them against each other in a match like the Money in the Bank Ladder Match.

An unexpected name just challenged Randy Orton RIGHT HERE.
