WWE Rumors: Alexa Bliss and Charlotte locked in to switch brands during the Superstar Shake-Up

It seems like the top heels on both shows will be switching brands during next week’s Superstar Shake-Up

What’s the story?

According to the rumour roundup section of Cageside Seats, there is one trade practically locked in for the Superstar Shake-Up. Charlotte will be moving to SmackDown, while Alexa Bliss will shift to Raw.

In case you didn’t know...

Last year, WWE initiated a brand split which divided the roster into two halves- Raw and SmackDown Live. Each brand had their own Championships, their own storylines, and their own feuds, dissociated from the other (barring a brief altercation at Survivor Series).

Charlotte and Alexa Bliss both held their respective Championships for a long duration after the split, as top female heels of their own respective brands. Alexa Bliss eventually dropped her belt to Naomi, whereas Charlotte dropped her belt to a fellow Horsewoman in Bayley, after a long feud with Sasha Banks, during which the belt changed hands multiple times.

The heart of the matter

While it is known that no details have been locked down about the Superstar Shake-up, this rumour seems like it is set in stone. Of course, nothing is official until it is official, but the word on the street is that this trade is definitely going to happen.

What's next?

The Superstar shake-up happens next week on Raw and presumably on SmackDown Live as well. Some other names that are rumoured to be switching brands next week are AJ Styles, New Day, Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn.

We must wait to find out if the rumours of Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss switching brands are actually true or not when Raw comes around this week.

Author's take

It makes perfect sense. Charlotte and Alexa Bliss were part of quite a few main events after the brand split, and this gives these two women a brand new set of opponents. Furthermore, the swap also makes for very interesting match-ups like Bliss vs. Bayley and Charlotte vs. Mickie James.
