WWE Rumors: JBL bullied another WWE staff member whose family member was on the verge of death

JBL has been under the fire of the media for bullying accusations

What’s the story?

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported yet another saddening story regarding JBL bullying a WWE staff member until the person was in tears.

In case you didn’t know...

JBL has been under the watch of the media and fans and has gotten more exposure than ever before with stories of his bullying incidents being outed to the public. Dave Meltzer of the WON first reported that SmackDown Live commentator Mauro Ranallo had gone into depression after facing bullying from JBL.

Former WWE announcer Justin Roberts recently released a book detailing several personal stories of JBL bullying him and others. To combat the bad publicity, JBL has turned babyface on commentary for SmackDown Live.

The heart of the matter

The following is a quote from the WON, which details JBL’s horrendous treatment towards a “WWE staffer”. Notice carefully that the pronoun of the person is not specified:

There was also an incident involving another non-wrestler who was well known to have a close family member dying, and had missed two weeks due to a minor operation. Layfield went off on missing the shows, harassing the person and saying how he didn’t miss any shows after hernia surgery. The person noted that this wasn’t the week to do this, and he didn’t stop until the person was in tears.

The problem with playing devil’s advocate in this scenario is that there have been many people coming out and recounting such stories of JBL’s bullying. This comes across as possibly the most ruthless thing he has done that the public is now aware of.

What’s next?

Unfortunately, JBL will continue to be a babyface commentator on SmackDown Live with no repercussions whatsoever.

Author’s take

This is nothing more than speculation, and shouldn’t be taken as anything else, but from the way the quote was presented by WON, the victim at hand may just be the legendary former ring announcer Lilian Garcia. There are multiple things that seem to indicate this.

Firstly, as mentioned before the quote, the pronoun of the individual is specifically avoided. Also, it is well known that Lilian Garcia’s late father had undergone surgery for terminal cancer, which is why Garcia left WWE in the first place.

However, going back even further to 2015, Lilian had undergone a knee surgery which kept her out 5-6 weeks, which is also around the time that her father’s terminal illness was made known to the public.

Again, it is nothing but pure speculation, but if it is indeed Lilian who was reduced to tears by JBL’s harassment, then there are no words that can describe the disgusting nature of his actions.

Lilian Garcia always comes across as one of the kindest and most caring human beings, and to face harassment especially during such grave circumstances, is nothing short of disgraceful.
