Arknights season 3 has been green-lit for production on Saturday, April 27, 2024. The official staff for the series streamed a teaser promotional video to confirm the sequel's production. Aside from the PV, the staff has also unveiled a captivating key visual. No release date has been revealed yet.
Fully titled Arknights: Rise from Ember, the series serves as a sequel to the previously released title, Arknights: Perish in Frost, which ran from October 2023 to November 2023. Notably, the anime itself is based on Chinese Hypergryph's Tower RPG mobile game. Yostar Pictures returns to produce the anime.
Arknights season 3, Rise from Ember, will see the return of Amiya and the Doctor
On Saturday, April 27, 2024, the official website and X handle (@ArknightsStaff) unveiled a promotional video and a key visual to confirm the production of Arknights season 3, Rise from Ember.
However, no pertinent details, such as the anime's release date, cast and staff, and episode numbers were disclosed.
The 54-second teaser trailer for Arknights season 3 showcases Amiya, the Doctor, and other important characters from the anime. It begins with Amiya, the main protagonist of this anime, addressing the Doctor. She says how happy she is to see him again.
The PV then transitions to several action-packed scenes, featuring other characters such as Kal'tsit, Talulah, Meteorite, FrostNova, and others. The teaser trailer gives fans a glimpse of what to expect in Arknights season 3. It ends with a cryptic quote from Amiya:
"When the land eats...It isn't picky about who."
Following that, the video shows the key visual for season 3, featuring Talulah, the daughter of Edward Artorius, and Alina, described as one of the first Reunion members.
According to the visual and the PV, it seems the sequel will cover chapters 7 and 8 of the game. Since Talulah is in the visual, Rise from Ember may showcase her backstory. In other words, fans can expect the season to not only be action-packed but emotional as well.
As mentioned earlier, Yostar Pictures is returning to produce this anime, after working on the first two seasons. The anime will likely see the previous cast members reprising their roles, alongside Tomoyo Kurosawa as Amiya, and Yuki Kaida as the Doctor. Maaya Sakamoto may return as Talulah, and Yoko Hikasa as Kal'tsit.
Crunchyroll describes the plot of Arknights anime as the following:
"In the wake of unknown Catastrophes in the heart of Terra, a mineral of unimaginable power has been discovered. With it, society's technology has made huge leaps and bounds."
The description continues:
"But the substance causes a deadly incurable disease, leading to a worldwide enslavement of the infected. As a rebellion is now on the rise, a pharmaceutical company races for a cure to save humanity. "
Crunchyroll streamed the first two seasons for international fans. Each season contained eight episodes in total. As such, it remains to be seen how many episodes the upcoming sequel will have.
