Saquon Barkley is an American football running back for the Philadelphia Eagles as of the 2024 NFL season. The New York Giants selected him as the second overall pick in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Barkley announced himself in the league with a touchdown and rushing for 106 yards on his debut against the Jaguars in 2018. He ended up as the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2018 and became the first rookie in Giants history to reach 1,000 running yards in a season. Barkley was named for the 2018 and 2022 Pro Bowl and also received numerous honours like the FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Year, the Pepsi Rookie of the Year, the AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, and more. Barkley hails from the Bronx and has started every game he has played for the Giants in the six seasons. He put up career-high numbers in the 2022 season, rushing for 1,312 yards, leading the Giants to the postseason that year. Barkley has covered 5,211 rushing yards and scored 35 total touchdowns in 74 games in his New York Giants career (via Pro Football Reference). In March 2024, he decided to part ways with the Giants and joined the Philadelphia Eagles.

Before joining the NFL, Barkley played college football at the Pennsylvania State University from 2015 to 2017. According to Sports Reference, he concluded his collegiate career with 3,843 rushing yards, 43 touchdowns along with 102 receptions for 1,195 receiving yards. During his high school years, he played high school football at Whitehall High School in Whitehall Township, Pennsylvania.
