Blue Jays third baseman Donaldson goes on 10-day DL
Toronto Blue Jays star Josh Donaldson was placed on the 10-day disabled list on Friday.
Donaldson left the Blue Jays' game against the Boston Red Sox on Monday with left calf tightness.
The Blue Jays announced on Friday he has been placed on the 10-day disabled list retroactive to May 29.
Donaldson told Sportsnet after the game he did not think the injury was serious.
"It's a little sore right now, a little tight," Donaldson said.
"We're going to do some treatment and stuff on it and see, play it by ear, see how it responds tomorrow and go from there."
Donaldson has been limited to 35 games this season. He was placed on the disabled list in mid-April with right shoulder inflammation and was activated May 3.
Donaldson, a three-time All-Star, has hit .228 with five home runs and 16 RBIs in 2018. He has also registered a .321 on-base percentage.
The Blue Jays have tallied a 25-29 record this season.
