He started playing basketball in the Jugend Basketball Bundesliga and after a year, he started receiving offers from renowned clubs like Bayern Munich and Brose Bamberg. He joined Riesen Ludwigsburg and decided to play for their junior team, Porsche BBA Ludwigsburg.

In 2018, Hukporti showed his skills at the Adidas Next Generation Tournament and averaged 18 points, 15.2 rebounds and 2.5 steals and led the entire event in blocks. After several stints with German, Lithuanian and Australian teams, he declared for the 2024 NBA Draft and was picked with the 58th overall pick in the second round by the Dallas Mavericks.
