Cole Anthony is a professional basketball player who currently plays for the Orlando Magic. Before making it to the NBA, Cole had an illustrious high school career.


Cole spent the first three years of high school playing for the Archbishop Molloy High School in Briarwood, New York. As a sophomore, he led Molloy to the CHSAA Class AA city championship finals, where they ultimately lost to Cardinal Hayes High School.


In his sophomore season, Cole averaged 20.7 points, 7.8 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game, earning a spot on the All-CHSAA Class AA first team along with his teammate Moses Brown. Cole was also named the Defensive Player of the Year in the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League.


After his successful sophomore and junior seasons at Molloy, Cole decided to transfer to the renowned Oak Hill Academy basketball program for his senior year. At Oak Hill, Cole averaged 18.5 points, 10.2 rebounds and 10.2 assists per game. He became the first player in Oak Hill history to average a triple-double.

Cole Anthony played only one season of college basketball at the University of North Carolina before declaring for the NBA draft. He made an immediate impact breaking the record for most points scored in a freshman debut with 34 points. Cole also added 11 rebounds and 5 assists in the record-setting performance.


Over the course of the 2019-2020 season, Cole averaged 18.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4 assists per game for North Carolina. Cole's outstanding performance earned him third-team All-ACC honours as well as a spot on the ACC All-Freshman team.


Although North Carolina struggled to a 14-19 record, Cole shined individually. After the season, Cole declared for the 2020 NBA Draft.

Cole Anthony was selected 15th overall in the 2020 NBA draft by the Orlando Magic. In his rookie season, he started 34 games and averaged 12.9 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game.


Anthony took on an increased role in his second season, starting all 65 games and improving his averages to 16.3 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.7 assists. Now in his fourth NBA season, Anthony looks ready to become Orlando's primary offensive option. He signed a three-year, $39 million contract extension with the Magic in October 2023, committing him to the team through 2026.
