Collin Sexton is an American professional basketball point guard/shooting guard for the Utah Jazz in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Nicknamed the "Young Bull,” Sexton was born on January 4, 1999, to parents Darnell and Gia Sexton. He has one brother and one sister — Jordan and Giuana.


Sexton attended Hillgrove High School in Powder Springs, Georgia, and switched to Pebblebrook High School in Mableton, Georgia before his junior season. He was a five-star recruit out of high school and was touted as one of the best players in the 2017 batch by Scout.com, Rivals.com and ESPN. He was also named the second best point guard of the 2017 high school class.


For college, Sexton committed to play for the Alabama Crimson Tide, where he averaged 19.2 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game in his freshman season. After one college season, Sexton declared for the 2018 NBA Draft.


Sexton was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers on June 21, 2018, with the eighth overall pick. He made his NBA summer league debut in June 2018, recording 15 points, along with seven rebounds. He made his NBA debut on October 17, 2018, against the Toronto Raptors, where he had nine points and three rebounds. He hit his career-high 42 points against the Brooklyn Nets on January 20, 2021.


After four seasons in Cleveland, Sexton made the move to the Utah Jazz, where he is in his second season. In 17 games so far in the 2023/24 season, Sexton is averaging 11.9 points, 2.6 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game. He is shooting 43.9% from the field, including 35.0% from deep.
