DeMarcus Cousins 'day-to-day' after MRI on ankle
- An MRI on DeMarcus Cousins' right ankle came back clean and he is listed as day-to-day.
DeMarcus Cousins avoided a serious ankle injury but is not quite ready to return for the Golden State Warriors.
An MRI on the Warriors center's right ankle came back clean, the team announced. He is out of Monday's game against the San Antonio Spurs and will be day-to-day going forward.
Cousins left with the injury in the fourth quarter of Saturday's 110-88 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder.
With Cousins out, the Warriors have shifted their plans for center Andrew Bogut's return. He will now join Golden State in San Antonio and make his season debut on Monday.
The initial plan was for Bogut to stay in the Bay Area and debut against the Indiana Pacers at home on Thursday due to the amount of travel he has done in recent weeks.
Additionally, Golden State are expected to get star forward Kevin Durant back on Monday. Durant has missed the last two games due to an ankle issue of his own.
The Warriors hold a 47-21 record and sit atop of the Western Conference, one game ahead of the Denver Nuggets.
