Domantas Sabonis is a professional basketball player who as of November 2024, plays for the Sacramento Kings in the NBA. The Orlando Magic selected Sabonis as the 11th overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft. However, he was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder on draft night. Following his father's retirement, the Sabonis family relocated to Malaga, Spain. His early professional career began with Unicaja Malaga, a prominent Spanish basketball club competing in Liga ACB, from 2012 to 2014. Seeking to further develop his game, Sabonis transitioned to American collegiate basketball, playing for Gonzaga University from 2014 to 2016, where he gained recognition on the national stage.
