In 2021, Mobley was drafted with the third overall pick in the first round by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Draft. He went on to become the first rookie to get five blocks in a game after LeBron James in 2004. He was also named the NBA Rookie of the Year for his outstanding performance on both ends of the court. Evan Mobley showcased his exceptional performance in the 2022-23 season, leading the Cleveland Cavaliers to the playoffs in five years. In a game against the Milwaukee Bucks, Mobley scored a career-high 38 points without a single 3-pointer. He was also named to the NBA All-Defensive Team in the season. Also, his average of 16.2 points, 9.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game placed him third in the Defensive Player of the Year voting. In the season 2023-24, Mobley averaged 15.7 points, 9.4 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game, which led the team to another playoff run. The Cavs fell short in the semi-finals against the Boston Celtics.
