Jahmir Young is a professional basketball player who plays as the point guard for the Chicago Bulls as of May 2025. Young started his basketball career at St. Mary's Ryken High School in Leonardtown before transferring to DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Maryland. Graduating in 2019 as a three-star recruit, he embarked on his collegiate basketball career with the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. As a freshman with the Charlotte 49ers, he earned impressive accolades, being named Third Team All-Conference USA (C-USA) and Freshman of the Year.

As a junior at college, Young secured a spot on the first-team All-Conference USA and was later transferred to the University of Maryland. Over five college basketball seasons, he appeared in 152 games, starting in every single one, and averaged 17.3 points, 3.3 assists, and 5.1 rebounds per game. Despite going undrafted in the 2024 NBA Draft, Young signed with the Denver Nuggets for the 2024 Summer League. In July 2024, Young signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Denver Nuggets. Although the Nuggets waived him in October, he found a place with the Grand Rapids Gold, the team's G League affiliate, continuing to pursue his professional basketball career. In February 2025, Jahmir Young was signed by the Bulls.
