From his early days in high school and college to his current stint in the NBA, Hart has consistently displayed skill, determination and leadership on the court. He is considered by many fans and pundits as one of the best role players in the league.

Josh Hart’s career highlights

As of now, Josh Hart is yet to win a NBA championship in his career. However, his determination and dedication to be a complete team player is second to none. Hart has played for four different teams in his NBA career and has been a very important player for all of them. He currently plays for the New York Knicks.

A promising early start

While Josh Hart never excelled in his studies, he was a great basketball player for his high school team. He was on the verge of getting expelled from Sidwell Friends School for his poor academic record, but due to his excellent on-court performances, several students and parents petitioned the school to give him a second chance.

He then played for Villanova University, where he found a strong competitive team to challenge for silverware. Hart's journey to championship glory reached a pinnacle during his time at Villanova University. He played a key role in his team winning the NCAA championship.

Transition to the NBA

Following his triumphant college career, Josh Hart declared for the 2017 NBA Draft. The Utah Jazz selected him as the 30th overall pick and traded him to the LA Lakers. Even though it was a learning and adjustment phase for Hart, he delivered his best as a rotational player in LA.

Hart was later traded to New Orleans Pelicans in a blockbuster trade involving superstar Anthony Davis. Hart played as a starter for the Pelicans, but never reached the playoffs. He averaged 10.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per game for the Pelicans.

After three seasons with the Pelicans, Hart was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers, combining forces with superstar Damian Lillard. However, the team failed to make it to the postseason despite Hart’s career-best output of 19.9 points per game in the 2021-22 season.

Josh Hart finally made it to the playoffs when he was traded to the Knicks. In 2023, Hart played 11 playoff games, starting five of them. He had a respectable average of 10.4 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game in the playoffs for the Knicks, but failed to surpass the Miami Heat in the conference semifinals.

Given his work ethic and drive to win at the highest level, it will not be surprising to see Josh Hart compete for a deeper postseason run in the coming seasons.
