Jrue Holiday is a professional basketball player who plays for the Boston Celtics in the NBA as of March 2025. He was selected by the Philadelphia 76ers as the 17th overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft. In the 2023 offseason, the two-time All-Star was involved in a multi-team blockbuster trade involving superstar Damian Lillard. Holiday was initially traded to the Portland Trail Blazers and, four days later, to the Boston Celtics. Whereas in his first year with the Boston Celtics in the 2023-24 season, Jrue Holiday was a key player who led the team to win their 18th NBA title.

Before joining the NBA, Holiday went to UCLA and played a lone season in 2008-09. In the 35 games played, Holiday started all the games and averaged 8.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.6 steals per game. Holiday was named to the Pac-10 All-Freshman Team, and after one season, he declared his name for the 2009 NBA Draft.

Jrue Holiday NBA Teams

Jrue Holiday has played for four NBA teams to date — the Philadelphia 76ers, New Orleans Pelicans, Milwaukee Bucks, and the Boston Celtics. Known for his elite guard defense, Jrue Holiday is a three-time All-Defensive First-team member and an NBA champion. In his first four years in the league, Holiday was part of the Philly team alongside Andre Iguodala, and the duo led the Sixers to the playoffs consistently. In 2013, he was traded to the Pelicans, where he played with Anthony Davis for seven seasons. While he had some of the best statistical years of his career there, the Pelicans never made noise in the playoffs. It was after this that Jrue Holiday got the biggest break of his career.

In a massive deal involving Eric Bledsoe, Holiday got traded to the Milwaukee Bucks. The franchise reached their first NBA Finals in 50 years. The Bucks completed their championship drought in 2021. Since then, Holiday has played two seasons for the Bucks before being traded to the Boston Celtics. In the 2023-24 season, Holiday was a key member of the team from the bench to lead the team to win their 18th NBA Championship. Holiday averaged 12.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 0.9 steals per game.
