Strus started his NBA career with the Boston Celtics for the NBA Summer League after being undrafted in the 2019 NBA draft. He later joined the Chicago Bulls for the NBA regular season but played only two games for them. Strus signed a contract with the Miami Heat on December 19, 2020. He played three seasons with the Heat before signing a four-year contract with the Cavaliers on July 6, 2023.
