"The weirdest NBA game I've ever witnessed” – Skip Bayless is baffled at LeBron James’ performance against LA Clippers

On Wednesday night, LeBron James and the LA Lakers attempted to end their drought against the Clippers. Unfortunately, for them, that was not the case.

Despite a big night from LeBron James, the Clippers picked up their 11th-straight win over their LA rivals. This was a crucial game for the Lakers, as a win would have got them a top-six seed and out of the play-in tournament. Now, with only a few games to go in the season, they remain in seventh place.

While LeBron finished strong, he did not have the best of starts. This tale of two halves performance left one national analyst stunned. While on FS1's "Undisputed," Skip Bayless gave his thoughts on the performance of the LA Lakers star.

"It was the worst half of basketball I have ever watched.

"This was the weirdest NBA game I've ever witnessed. How does LeBron go from the worse half I've ever seen to his greatest half of basketball?"

It's also worth mentioning that the Lakers were on the second leg of a back-to-back, and coming off an overtime thriller against the Utah Jazz.

Breaking down LeBron James' performance against the LA Clippers

Looking at the box score, it was a night and day difference for LeBron James against the LA Clippers. Despite a poor first half, he managed to completely flip the script in the final two quarters.

LeBron played just over 14 minutes in the first half and recorded only three points. He shot an abysmal 1-for-6 from the field and turned the ball over four times.

Whatever LeBron did in the locker room at halftime, it worked. He came out in the second half and completely dominated the game.

In the 21 minutes he played in the third and fourth quarters, LeBron tallied 30 points, eight rebounds and four assists. He missed only two of his 14 shot attempts and went a stellar 4-for-5 from beyond the arc.

LeBron did everything he could in the fourth quarter to make things interesting, but it wasn't enough. 14 of his 30 second-half points came in the final period and he didn't miss a single shot attempt in that time.

While LeBron came alive in the fourth quarter, the same could not be said for his All-Star teammate. Anthony Davis had only 2 points down the stretch on 1-for-4 shooting.

There is no denying LeBron came out of the gates slow, but he made up for it in a huge way with his performance after halftime.
