Nick Richards is a Jamaican professional basketball player for the Charlotte Hornets as of 2024. Hailing from Kingston, Jamaica, Richards was selected in the 2020 NBA Draft as the 42nd overall pick in the second round by the New Orleans Pelicans but was immediately traded to the Hornets in exchange for a future second-round pick. Richards has had a solid career with the Hornets, initially serving as a backup before becoming the starting center in the 2023-24 season, where he played a career-high 67 games.

Before entering the NBA, Nick Richards attended Jamaica College (JC), where he excelled in football, volleyball, and track and field. His raw basketball skills and potential were discovered by a New York City-based scout Andre Ricketts in Jamaica in 2013. Ricketts brought Nick Richards to the United States, where he attended St. Mary's High School in Manhasset, New York, before transferring to The Patrick School in Hillside, New Jersey, in 2014. After five-star rated high school years, Nick Richards had a great college career at the University of Kentucky from 2017 to 2020, where he earned First-team All-SEC honors in 2020.
