His basketball roots run deep, influenced by his father's professional career that took the family across Europe. Vukčević's early years were spent in Italy, where he first developed his love for basketball. After his father's retirement, the family moved to Athens, Greece. It was here that Tristan took his first significant steps in organized basketball, joining the youth system of Olympiacos, a club where his father had once played.

In 2018, Vukčević's talent led him to Spain, where he joined the U16 team of Real Madrid. With Real Madrid's U18 team, he showcased his skills in the Euroleague Next Generation Tournament. Vukčević's professional career began with Real Madrid's senior team in 2020. He then signed with Partizan Belgrade, a club in the Adriatic League.
