Edey is the tallest player in Big Ten history, standing 7 feet 4 inches tall. Additionally, he was honored with the Consensus first-team All-American and First-team All-Big Ten, both in 2023 and 2024.

Cheyne decided to attend college at Purdue University and was later drafted by the Memphis Grizzlies with the ninth overall pick in the first round of the 2024 NBA Draft.
