Abdul Carter will play his rookie season for the New York Giants in the NFL in 2025. He was drafted as the 3rd pick in the 2025 NFL draft. He plays the role of defensive end. He is a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and graduated from La Salle College High School. He was ranked as a four-star prospect and had options to play college football for teams like the Ole Miss Rebels and the South Carolina Gamecocks. However, he committed to Pennsylvania State University and chose the Penn State Nittany Lions as his college football team in 2022. He also received All-Big Ten second-team honors in 2022 and first-team All-Big Ten honors in 2023.

Abdul Carter at La Salle College High School played under head coach John Steinmetz, earning four-year letters. As a senior, he was named the team captain and also the MVP. Carter guided La Salle to a 9-2 season and a Philadelphia Catholic League (PCL) Championship. He was a two-time all-state pick and a three-time All-PCL selection. During his senior year, he recorded 78 tackles, of which 53 were solo, 10 tackles for loss, two sacks, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and two pass breakups. Carter was selected to participate in the All-American Bowl game, giving him national recognition. He was ranked as the No. 295 overall player, the No. 29 linebacker, and the No. 10 in the state of Pennsylvania by 247Sports. Carter was also ranked as the No. 225 overall player, the No. 23 linebacker, and the No. 7 in Pennsylvania by On3. He was ranked as the No. 218 overall player, the No. 20 offensive linebacker, and the No. 6 in Pennsylvania by Rivals. ESPN ranked him as the No. 37 linebacker. He also earned a letter in basketball as a power forward.
