But after three seasons, the quarterback transferred to Louisiana State University in 2022 using the NCAA transfer portal. In the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, Daniels was selected by the Washington Commanders with the #2 pick. Being the first quarterback in NFL history to dash for 80 yards and two touchdowns in his debut, he gained 272 yards overall and scored two goal-line rushing scores. However, he won his first game against the New York Giants the next week. He had participated in two games as of September 2024 and finished with a 1-1 record, 40 passes completed out of 53 attempts, 410 passing yards, and seven sacks.
