3 current Indian players who might have been better captains than Virat Kohli

England v India: Specsavers 5th Test - Day Two

#1 Rohit Sharma

<p>

Rohit Sharma is one of the most underrated captains in the world of cricket at the moment. The Mumbaikar has led his IPL team Mumbai Indians to three IPL titles and leads from the front with the bat every time he takes to field as a captain. Captaincy seems to bring the best out of Rohit Sharma with the bat.

He made his captaincy debut for India in December 2017 against Sri Lanka at Dharamsala. In the very next match, he smashed a double hundred and set the tone in his captaincy career right from the word go. India won the ODI and T20I series against Sri Lanka and the Nidahas trophy under his leadership in the 2017-18 season.

Rohit Sharma certainly has a very shrewd cricketing mind and is a front-runner to take up the captaincy if Virat's record goes downhill or if he surprisingly resigns. If he had been made the captain before Kohli then he could have won a lot of laurels for India and would have been an astounding leader, for captaincy seems to come naturally to him.
