ICC chief Haroon Lorgat today suggested that timeless DRS would be used in the final of the inaugural World Test Championship. Speaking at lunch on Sky Sports to an increasingly incredulous David Gower, Lorgat announced that, in view of the fact cricket had manoeuvred itself into what he termed ‘a bit of a delightful pickle’ over the controversial system, it would be best if all reviews just went on ‘until the asteroid hits’.“We saw today how much fascinating debate the DRS can generate even when it proves wholly unsatisfactory in coming to any definitive conclusion.
