Timeless DRS to be used at World Test Championship, says ICC (Humour)

ICC chief Haroon Lorgat today suggested that timeless DRS would be used in the final of the inaugural World Test Championship. Speaking at lunch on Sky Sports to an increasingly incredulous David Gower, Lorgat announced that, in view of the fact cricket had manoeuvred itself into what he termed ‘a bit of a delightful pickle’ over the controversial system, it would be best if all reviews just went on ‘until the asteroid hits’.“We saw today how much fascinating debate the DRS can generate even when it proves wholly unsatisfactory in coming to any definitive conclusion. The kick the baby in the head and keep the bathwater approach of retaining Hot Spot but not Hawkeye is bearing fruit. Let’s build on that by making DRS just the RS,” he said as Nasser Hussain bit through his lower lip.

The move, which is to be sponsored by Twitter, will be be trialled during the forthcoming innings of Indian seamer MS Dhoncorleoni, who was unavailable for comment due to an unscheduled visit to some gelding stables owned by third umpire Marais Erasmus.
