Just a day after the untimely death of the talented Ankit Keshri, another cricketer from Bengal by the name of Rahul Ghosh has suffered a serious head injury in a Division 2 match organised by the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB).

Playing at Sourav Ganguly’s Videocon Cricket Academy in Salt Lake, Ghosh was fielding in the cover region when an attempt to stop a ball resulted in fatal injuries at the back of his head. He was rushed to a nearby private hospital and he will be kept under observation for the following couple of days.

"He has an injury in the left side of the head. There was bleeding. CT scan has been done. It shows a clot. He is now stable but has to be kept under observation for seven to eight days. Before that nothing conclusive can be said," the concerned doctor said.

This unfortunate incident follows the passing away of Keshri, who lost his life after colliding with teammate Sourabh Mondal at the Jadavpur University Campus Ground on Friday. The whole cricketing world united in mourning the loss of the former U-19 Bengal cricketer, with prominent figures like Sachin Tendulkar expressing their condolences to Keshri’s family and friends.
