Ozil's father threatens legal action against Real Madrid

Mesut Ozil Visits Arsenal Training Ground

Mesut Ozil joined Arsenal on transfer deadline day

Mesut’s Ozil’s father, Mustafa Ozil, had threatened Real Madrid with legal action against the club.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez had earlier this week alleged that the ex-Real Madrid midfielder Ozil lacked professionalism and criticized the player’s obsession with women.

But Mustafa rejected all the allegations stating, “Just because a man earns a lot of money, doesn’t mean he’s a man of honour, and Perez is no man of honour.

“Mesut is supposed to be the scapegoat now and I’m the greedy father. A put-up game. We will defend ourselves legally.

“If Mesut had an unprofessional life in Madrid, then why did he always play? They want to blame him now, because the fans and team-mates are angry.

Mustafa believes his son had been turned into a ‘scapegoat’ after he signed for Arsenal on deadline day of the transfer window.

Ozil had played 108 games for Madrid in which he scored 19 goals and provided numerous assists. He played a key-role in the attack of the club for the past 3 seasons.
