TAL Crystal Ball Gameweek 2 Division 1

Action from the Rare Dare FC v Mavericks FC match in GW 1

We had an exciting round of matches in Gameweek 1 and one thing is for sure – the quality in the competition has definitely gone up a notch! Although our predictions were far from spot on we will ask the crystal ball again to see into the future and predict some outcomes! Gameweek 2 takes place on 13 November at FSV Arena.

8:00 AM – Rare Dare FC v Yataghan Internazionale

GW 2 kicks off with RDFC taking on Yataghan. The match has a history of tempers flaring but with it being this early in the season we don’t expect to see any red cards (or we hope so) being handed out. RDFC could only pick up a point from their last game and will be looking to come out all guns blazing. The footballing experience Yataghan possesses will come in handy in the big pitch as they look to build on a decent performance from last week.

Players to watch: Prakash Marandi (Rare Dare FC), Andreas Lehmann (Yataghan Internazionale)

Crystal Ball: Rare Dare FC (2) – (1) Yataghan Internazionale

11:00 AM – FC Bengal v FC Kougen Kikou

Bengal started their campaign in the top division with a win and will be looking to build on that but they face tricky customers in Kougen Kikou. The latter have a notorious history of being Jekyll or Hyde, so who shows up on the matchday might determine the outcome of the game. Nevertheless, Bengal seem to have enough firepower in their arsenal to win this game but need to approach the game with caution.

Players to watch: Anto Rushith (FC Bengal), Takahisa Kiyone (FC Kougen Kikou)

Crystal Ball: FC Bengal (3) – (1) FC Kougen Kikou

12:30 PM – Parikrma FC v Mavericks FC

Parikrma are coming off a win against Flipkart in GW 1 and will be looking to build momentum but Mavericks might have other plans in store for them. Mavericks look like a vastly improved squad to last season and will hope they will not be in the relegation zone come the end of the season but their work starts here; get anything from this game and their team morale will be high.

Parikrma are favourites and we expect them to come through in the end.

Players to watch: Appu J (Parikrma FC), Edwin KS (Mavericks FC)

Crystal Ball: Parikrma FC (2) – (0) Mavericks FC

2:00 PM – Flipkart FC v Samba FC

A strategically poised tie, this one might be decided on who draws up the better tactics in the dressing room. Flipkart have a very compact style of play while Samba have a strong defensive unit.

From the looks of it, one goal could decide the outcome of the game. Both teams have added some new talent to their squads and it might be these new players that determine the result.

Players to watch: Mujthaba Magrey (Flipkart FC), Sufiyan Ahmed (Samba FC)

Crystal Ball: Flipkart FC (1) – (0) Samba FC

5:00 PM – Gremio FC v Project 7

Both teams must be reeling from losses in GW 1 but with the games coming in thick and fast they need to put those losses behind them to get back to winning ways. Gremio are missing key players, which might give Project 7 the advantage, but the latter are having trouble adjusting to the new pitch. We expect this game to be free flowing and a high scoring one with teams out to attack.

Players to watch: Naman G (Gremio FC), Vishnu JP (Project 7)

Crystal Ball: Gremio FC (2) – (3) Project 7

6:30 PM – Horizons FC v Supernova FC

The final game for GW 2 of Division 1 is also the game of the day with Supernova taking on Horizons. Both teams are coming off big wins in GW 1 and will be looking to play this game in the same tempo.

Since both are title contenders, we expect this game to determine the extent of their challenge. A loss for either team could set them back in the title race so teams need to craft their strategy to perfection, which leads to the likely scenario that this game will be a draw.

Players to watch: Rohan Menon (Horizons FC), James S (Supernova FC)

Crystal Ball: Horizons FC (2) – (2) Supernova FC
