FPL 2023-24: Best Fantasy Team for Gameweek 35 | FPL Tips

Tottenham Hotspur v Chelsea FC - Premier League
Will you be backing Son Heung-Min with the captain's armband in DGW 35?

We're into the final four FPL GWs of the season, and the Double Gameweeks keep on coming.

DGW 34 was the highest-scoring one of the season yet, and those managers who backed themselves to go differential got huge returns.

Jean-Philippe Mateta, Ben White and Martin Odegaard were the stars of the GW, with Crystal Palace assets and the Everton defense yielding huge returns to their backers.

On the contrary, Liverpool's FPL patrons were left disappointed, as those managers who played it safe by captaining Salah or backing Luis Diaz lost plenty of rank.

I was one of those FPL managers, who contrary to my playing style, tried to keep it safe and suffered a red arrow despite playing the Free Hit.

DGW 35 sees Spurs and Chelsea play twice, and FPL managers will be eager to bring players from the two sides into their teams as they both double once again in DGW 37.

With many managers dead-ending into GW 34, this is the last window for FPL managers to use their Wildcard chips and set their teams up for a powerful final four GWs.

Son Heung-Min, Alexander Isak and Bruno Fernandes are the most popular transfers in, with Haaland, Salah and Bukayo Saka among those who're transferred out in large numbers.

Whatever moves you're making in your FPL team, ensure that your team is locked in before the DGW 35 deadline on Saturday morning BST.

Gameweek 35 Deadline: 11:00 am (GMT)/ 03:30 pm (IST) on Saturday, April 27.

FPL Gameweek 35 Fixtures

GW 35 kicks off with Liverpool's all-important away clash against West Ham on Saturday afternoon. Aston Villa and Chelsea face off at Villa Park later in the day.

Arsenal take on Spurs away from home in a crucial North London Derby, with Manchester City and Nottingham Forest locking horns soon after.

The GW concludes with the 'Double' fixture between Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge on Thursday night.

FPL Team Suggested for Previous GW

Here's the suggested team for the previous GW:

Goalkeepers: Neto (BOU) (£4.6 m) and Martin Dubravka (NEW) (£4.2 m)

Defenders: Joskvo Gvardiol (MCI) (£4.8 m), Rayan Ait-Nouri (WOL) (£4.6 m), Jan Paul van Hecke (BHA) (£4.0 m), Alfie Doughty (LUT) (£4.6 m), and Conor Bradley (LIV) (£4.2 m)

Midfielders: Mohamed Salah (LIV) (£13.3 m), Anthony Gordon (NEW) (£6.0 m), Cole Palmer (CHE) (£5.9 m), Son Heung-Min (TOT) (£10.0 m), and Alejandro Garnacho (MUN) (£4.9 m)

Forwards: Erling Haaland (MCI) (£14.3 m), Carlton Morris (LUT) (£5.0 m), and Ivan Toney (BRE) (£7.9 m)

GW 34 Transfers Made: Free Hit Played

Transfers

1) Ivan Toney (FWD) (BRE) (£7.9 m) - OUT | Nicolas Jackson (FWD) (CHE) (£6.8 m) - IN

2) Mohamed Salah (MID) (LIV) (£13.3 m) - OUT | Kevin de Bruyne (MID) (MCI) (£10.4 m) - OUT

Mohamed Salah's indifferent form since AFCON seemed to reach a breaking point in his blank in DGW 34, and with Liverpool having their full set of attacking options, there's a good chance his minutes are affected now.

Ivan Toney has also been missing all of his excellent fixtures on paper due to injury, and with plenty of fit and firing FPL assets available, both these players are going out this week.

With Chelsea doubling both in DGW 35 and DGW 37 and with Raheem Sterling and Christopher Nkunku injured, he should be their main man up front and has a very high FPL points potential.

Best Fantasy Team for Gameweek 35

Gameweek 35 Bench: Neto (BOU) vs BHA (H), Erling Haaland (MCI) vs NFO (A), Jan Paul van Hecke vs BOU (A), and Conor Bradley vs WHU (A).

Getting a red arrow on a Free Hit isn't great, especially after a very successful GW 33. In fact, I scored more points in a single GW 33 than I did on my Free Hit, where I didn't take any risks or punts apart from Martin Odegaard. Nevertheless, I can still make it into the top 250K with some good moves and captaincy choices in the final four GWs, and DGW 35 could be a good start.

I've taken a hit to sell Mohamed Salah, and he's someone known to punish his sellers, but I'm confident that Kevin De Bruyne will reward his FPL backers at the business end of the season. Joskvo Gvardiol is the other Manchester City FPL asset I'm starting, and a clean sheet against Nottingham Forest isn't too much to ask.

Newcastle also have a stellar fixture this week, with the Magpies taking on Sheffield United at home. Anthony Gordon and Alexander Isak tore it up against Spurs last time they played at home, and I'm hoping for a repeat of the same this time around.

Rayan Ait-Nouri should be fit to start this GW, and at home to Luton, I'm hoping the defender delivers on his stellar xG numbers to provide attacking returns even if they can't keep a shutout.

Chelsea and Spurs are the two teams that are doubling this week, and I'm relying heavily on Son Heung-Min, Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson to deliver the FPL points in this GW. While the clean sheet prospects of either team don't seem bright, they are in good goalscoring form, and I'm hoping they guide me to another green arrow.

Gameweek 35 - FPL Captaincy

It's a toss-up between Son Heung-Min and Cole Palmer for the captaincy in DGW 35, and I think the Spurs captain has an edge.

While the Spurs fixture is good for Palmer, he will likely find it tough against Aston Villa. However, an always-attacking Spurs side should find a way despite facing Arsenal in the first game, and Son's expertise in exploiting high lines should serve him well in both matches.

Both players are on penalties and are great FPL assets, but my Spurs bias and the fixtures makes me put Son ahead in the captain's armband race.
