Tottenham Hotspur legend Clive Allen has claimed that Gareth Bale‘s highly anticipated move to Real Madrid is already a done deal and was probably agreed around a month ago.
Spurs have spent big this summer, adding the likes of Paulinho, Nacer Chadli, and Etienne Capoue to bolster their midfield. They also look favourites to land Anzhi’s Brazilian defender Willian.
Allen told Kick Off: “Looking at it now, obviously it is in hindsight; I think the Gareth Bale deal was probably agreed a month or so ago.
“It’s given Daniel Levy and the club license to go and do their business, which they have done well, before Gareth has officially left.
“The acquisitions have been very positive. Once it is all complete, and it looks like Gareth’s deal may be finalised tomorrow [Friday], Tottenham can look ahead to the season having started well.”
