According to a report in The Telegraph, Real Madrid could end up paying over £200 million for Tottenham’s Gareth Bale. This figure includes the transfer fee, Bale’s salary, and agent fees and miscellaneous payments.

The transfer saga involving the 24-year-old is the most covered story of the current transfer season.

While Madrid are ready to break the world record transfer fee of £80m paid to Manchester United to bring in Cristiano Ronaldo to Madrid to sign Bale, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is apparently refusing to budge on his stand, and is demanding an excess of £100m for the Welsh winger.

Assuming that Tottenham get the desired fee - £104m – they want for Bale, and that Madrid double Bale’s current salary over the duration of his promised six-year contract, which would add up to £94m, the total fee could easily cross £200m dollars.

All that remains to be seen now is whether or not Spurs and Madrid are willing to reach a compromise on Bale’s transfer fee, as the Welshman himself has stated that he would definitely want to represent Real Madrid next season.
