Andre Villas-Boas has revealed to the Spanish media that Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy has promised that Gareth Bale will not be moving away from the club this summer.

It was reported previously that the Welshman is looking for a move away from Spurs and a number of clubs, especially Real Madrid, had shown their interest following the rumors.

But Spurs manager Villas-Boas has gone on record in the Spanish newspaper Marca saying: “We have the pledge of the chairman that Bale is not going to leave the club.”

Bale, who was both PFA and Football Writers’ player of the year in 2013, was also the highest scoring Tottenham player during the 2012/13 season, having scored 31 goals for club and country in total, last season alone.

It is no secret that the Spanish giants were looking forward to having the player at Santiago Bernabeu, with club ambassador Zinedine Zidane even praising the Wales international on numerous occasions.

In spite of this, Levy has reassured the Spurs fans that the North London club’s top star will remain with the club to play another season.
