Ahead of the weekend’s crunch Premier League clash, Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood believes Manchester United are ‘beatable’ at Old Trafford.

Sherwood, who won 2-1 on his last visit at Old Trafford with Tottenham Hotspur last season confident that his new club has the quality to spring a major upset on Saturday.

"I think they are beatable," he told the club's official website.

"They have obviously got a terrific record at Old Trafford but we say it every week, anyone can beat anyone in this division. That's the beauty of the Premier League.

"We think we are capable of going there and upsetting them. We have a lot of pace on the counter-attack. We are looking to exploit.

"We show them the respect they deserve. They have done well. They are near the top of the league. But we also need to impose ourselves on them.

"It's a wonderful place to go and play and the lads enjoy going there.

"There's not many players who can say they've gone there and took positive results. But I think there are a few in our dressing room who have gone there and won.

"So the boys are quite confident that they can do that again. The boys have to do it collectively.

"There's no better time to do it than when we are at the bottom end of the table.

"I still think it's an unbelievably tough place to go and play. It's hard.

"I took a Tottenham team there last season and won quite comfortably. Whether that can emulated again? I hope so."

Sherwood’s Villa side are just 2 points off the drop zone. With 8 games to go will, the 46-year-old manager has been looking to inspire his squad to pick-up crucial points away from home.

However, it won’t be an easy task for the Villains as Manchester United are on a fine run of form in the league, losing just once at home in the 15 games played this season.

After getting knocked out of the FA Cup, Louis van Gaal is looking to finish in the top 4 in his first season with the Red Devils.

The last time these two sides met played each other in the league, it ended as a 1-1 draw with Falcao scoring a header for United after Benteke gave the lead to Villa in the first half.
