Mark Schwarzer has signed for Chelsea. This would be a fanastic signing for the club as he would provide a competent back up for Petr Cech.
Joining on a free transfer he is the perfect signing and I will be much happier with him deputising for Cech than Ross Turnbull or Henrique Hilario.
Schwarzer has a wealth of Premier League experience and we will not find a better fit. He made his name at Middlesbrough playing for them for 11 years before spending 5 years at Fulham.
At 40, a one-year-deal suits both parties that his signing would not risk the long term future of Thibaut Courtois.
Ok so its not a £50m striker but it is another piece of the jigsaw in place.
