"Cannot even beat the relegation team", "Just a mid table team with a big name" – Social media reacts as Manchester United draw against Burnley

The Red Devils registered their sixth league draw of the ongoing campaign.
The Red Devils registered their sixth league draw of the ongoing campaign.

After Manchester United's 1-1 Premier League draw against relegation-threatened Burnley at Old Trafford on Saturday (April 27), fans have shared their two cents on social media.

The Red Devils, who have now won just once in their last six league games, failed to make the most of their home advantage against Vincent Kompany's outfit. They dominated for majority of the contest, registering 27 shots compared to the visitors' 16 overall shots.

In the 79th minute of the league clash, Manchester United forward Antony opened the scoring with an excellent finish into the bottom corner. However, Zeki Amdouni restored parity in the 87th minute after Andre Onana fouled a Clarets player inside the penalty box.

After the full-time whistle, a supporter poked fun at United on X:

"This team cannot even beat the relegation team 🤡"

A Manchester United fan wrote under one of the club's post on X:

"You look at Man United playing and you realize, we are just a mid table team with a big name 💔 And when Erik ten Hag says we can't be title contenders next season, some of you are mad at him! We don't have a proper football structure, the players aren't good enough... so many gaps in this team. We just need an open surgery and as the fanbase, we should support that!"

Here's how other fans reacted to the Red Devils' recent stalemate:

Erik ten Hag's outfit, who finished third last season, are currently in serious danger of missing out on a top four place. They are sixth in the league table with 54 points from 34 matches – 12 points off Aston Villa.

The Red Devils will next lock horns with 14th-placed Crystal Palace in their league encounter away at Selhurst Park on Monday (May 6).

Manchester United learn target's price tag

According to BBC Sport, Crystal Palace have slapped a price tag of £60 million on Manchester United target Michael Olise ahead of the upcoming window. The star's deal does not have a clear-cut exit clause.

Olise, who was subject to a £35 million bid from Chelsea last summer, has popped up as one of the most exciting wide operators in the Premier League recently. The 22-year-old has bagged 13 goals and laid out 23 assists in 87 overall appearances for the Eagles so far.

Before joining Oliver Glasner's side in 2021, Olise earned his name during his time at EFL League One side Reading. The Manchester United target registered seven goals and 14 assists in 73 games for them.
