With each passing day, Manchester United are running out of time to strengthen their side before the summer transfer window shuts. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has bolstered his squad with two recruits, but he still needs to add more firepower to the squad before the market closes ahead of the new Premier League season.

The Red Devils are keen to add a new centre-back and a midfielder, but they need to strengthen other areas of the pitch as well.

With the arrival of Daniel James, many felt that their glaring void on the right-wing would be filled, but despite enterprising performances in the pre-season, he looks a better operator on the left-wing and is yet very inexperienced.

Such a dilemma has created an opportunity for Mason Greenwood to showcase his talent, which the 17-year-old has grabbed with both hands, as well as both feet.

Despite the fact that he's a unique talent, he's a teenager. Manchester United need a specialist right-winger in order to mount a challenge in four different competitions next season.

That is why a summer move for Gareth Bale makes sense and could be too good to turn down in the coming weeks. Gareth Bale won't only be a solution to United's right-wing woes, but united will sign a superstar who would increase the face-value of Manchester United.

Manchester United are no longer a squad full of superstars like in the past. Only Paul Pogba and David de Gea can be termed as the superstars in the current squad. Signing Gareth Bale will be a sign of intent from Manchester United which will show that they can still attract the best players on the planet.

Gareth Bale is a superstar with an experience of competing at the highest level. A return of 102 goals in 231 games for Real Madrid with two winners in Champions League finals is a testimony to his football prowess.

Although, neither Real Madrid nor Gareth Bale is looking for a loan move as they prefer an outright purchase if a deal is to be completed in the current transfer window.

Spending a high transfer amount seems out of the question for Manchester United for a player as injury-prone as him, but if they can convince Bale to join them on loan with the option to buy, then it looks like a risk worth taking.

A torrid spell with recurring injuries has critically hampered Bale's reputation, but he still is a world-class player and one of the finest wingers who can wreak havoc in oppositions' half with his pace. Not only would he fit into United's system straightaway but he would also represent a sign of intent from Manchester United ahead of a new season.

Solskjaer has turned Manchester United's return to the top into a long-term project, and it too could be something which appeals to Bale. If fit, the Welshman could lead the young United attack with his experience and knowhow.

For a club of such a significant stature, a return to the Champions League remains the strict target for the season ahead, and if the Red Devils can afford to bring in Bale in the summer window, he might prove to be a risk worth taking in their quest to get there.
