Real Madrid made a big mistake by signing Gareth Bale, says top Spanish doctor

A Real Madrid mistake?

Dr Avelino Parajon, a top doctor in Spain has revealed that Real Madrid made a big mistake by spending so much money on an injury-prone Gareth Bale.

The club revealed that Bale has a small chronic disc protrusion in his back which Avelino pointed out as a long term problem that could haunt the Welshman.

“If Real Madrid has signed Gareth Bale knowing about this protrusion, they have committed an error. That is not to say that tomorrow it can be operated on and he can continue playing, like has happened many times,” he told MARCA.

“But if he already has problems with protruding discs that indicates that it is not a one-off. When a person has those problems at that age, it suggests that he has a great possibility of suffering herniated discs and symptoms arising from that over time. It is a bad sign for any athlete,” he added.

The injuries have been restricting Bale from playing regularly for the team but the club has insisted that the player won’t be requiring a surgery for the problem. But the Real Madrid medical team is concerned about the fitness of Bale and two games in a row could well lead into a surgery that could side line him for up to four months.
