Real Madrid set to bid for Gareth Bale?

Gareth Bale is reportedly set to join his former team-mate, Luka Modric, at Real Madrid.

Real Madrid are reportedly set to launch a mega bid for Tottenham star Gareth Bale.

Italian site Calciomercato claim that the Spanish giants will make the mega bid of £56 million for the 23 year old winger, who only recently claimed that their star player would cost any club up to £60 million.

It now seems that Madrid will not hesitate to go close to that particular figure, with the club knowing very well that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy will not back down once he sets a price.

Real Madrid had to wage a long battle with Levy over the signing of Luka Modric earlier in the summer, and they be keen to avoid a repeat with Bale in January.

Indeed, it is claimed Luka Modric may be well the one who has been convincing Real about buying Bale. Also, the speculation about Cristiano Ronaldo‘s future at Madrid has given impetus to the story about Bale.

Whether it is true remains to be seen.
