Sergio Aguero of Manchester City receives treatment during the match between Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City at White Hart Lane.

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero will have his injury assessment on Thursday in order to determine the extent of the damage. Aguero hobbled off just before half time against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane.

City boss Manuel Pellegrini said, “We will see how he is after he has seen the doctor on Thursday. He has injured his hamstring. Now we must wait and see how serious it is.”

“We have tried not to depend on one player but we will always miss Sergio because he’s a top player, and we hope to have him again as soon as possible.”

The Argentine had recently returned after a calf injury and stated on Twitter:

Strikers Edin Dzeko and Stefan Jovetic were on target and will have to be in top form as the leaders face Chelsea on Monday.

Captain Vincent Kompany rued the injury too saying, “It’s bad news of course,”

“We will have to see. We don’t know how bad it is but hopefully he’ll be back very soon.”The good news is Jovetic stepped up and was the player we know he can be.”
