TAL Division 2: Gameweek 6 Preview

The Amateur League heads into Game Week 6 after a mid-league break with lots of exciting games coming up. Supernova FC is on top of the standings owing to superior goal difference over their direct rivals Parikrma, who sit right beneath them. Both teams have had a spotless record so far and are the only unbeaten teams in the league.

Diablos FC are not far behind in third, and will be expected to give the top dogs a good run for their money in the coming weeks. Athlos United FC complete the top four but having lost two games so far, have only an outside shot at the crown; although football often throws up wild surprises. FC Brunton having failed to live up to pre-season expectations currently sit in 5th, and will look to be more consistent.

Below them in 6th, is Diego FC, who after a disastrous start to the season have recovered well in the last couple of games and climbed up the table. Another team that has had a see-saw season are Netbusters, who see themselves in 7th after having managed to win just one game. Warriors FC and Phoenix FC are in 8th and 9th respectively each registering just one win apiece.

The team that is languishing at the bottom is FK FC, who have failed to notch up a single point till date. Although, having got a lot of their tough fixtures out of the way, points on the board are expected. With many crucial games coming up, it is going to be an action-packed second half of the season with the title still up for grabs.


8:30 AM – Warriors FC v Athlos United FC

The league resumes with the clash between Warriors and Athlos United. Athlos will start as favorites for this one but Warriors are expected to put up a strong fight. If Warriors FC will be able to get anything out of this game though, they will need to shore up their defence. Crystal Ball: Athlos United FC 3- 1 Warriors FC


10:00 AM – Phoenix FC v FK FC

In what is probably the toughest game to call, the teams in the 9th and 10th places go head-to-head in a game that could revive the fortunes of either team. FK FC will be expected to give a better account and a win should kick start their season. Phoenix FC have a good attack and will play on the front foot but a win for FK FC looks to be on the cards.

11:30 AM – Diablos FC v FC Brunton

The third game of the day features Diablos FC and FC Brunton, with Diablos tipped to overcome their opponents. With the title on the line, Diablos cant afford any more slip-ups. Brunton will be looking to ruffle some feathers, and if successful, could dent their opponents’ title hopes.

1:15 PM- Supernova FC v Diego FC

Supernova FC will be looking to continue their immaculate form when take on Diego FC in the first game of the afternoon session. Diego FC is in good form too, but a result might in this game is a lot to ask for. If Diego aren’t set up well defensively, this may be a case of just how many goals Supernova can score.

2:45 PM- Parikrma v Netbusters

We round off proceedings for the day when Netbusters take on Parikrma. Parikrma haven’t put a wrong foot till now and with the title chances on the line, they will be expected to overcome their opponents. Netbusters will have to play a flawless game if they are to stop the flamboyant Parikrma attack.
