The penultimate Gameweek of Division 2 is upon us, with Supernova FC in with a chance to clinch the title when they take on FC Brunton. Athlos United go up against Diablos FC in an all-important encounter, which will have a big impact on who takes 2nd place and joins Supernova FC in Division 1 for Season 3.
Fifth place is still up for grabs with Netbusters and FC Brunton battling it out, but Diego FC, Warriors FC and Phoenix FC still have an outside shot at the same. FK FC will be looking to pick up their first win.

GW 8 kicks off with the title on the line when Supernova FC takes on FC Brunton. Supernova are coming off an important win against Parikrma in GW 7, and a win here will see them lift the trophy with a game in hand. However, they face stiff opposition in Brunton, who have been in good defensive form. Brunton will look to shut shop from the start, while looking to hit Champions elect on the counter, but inviting pressure against an explosive Supernova attack might not be wise.

10:00 AM – Athlos United v Diablos FC
Next up, Athlos United take on Diablos FC in the headliner of the day, with the result impacting the race for second. Diablos are currently in second in the standings with a one-point lead over Parikrma, but if Athlos win this game, they will go level on points with Diablos. Both teams play an attacking game and we should be in for a goal fest but with the points more important than the style of play means the team that will adapt to the situation better will come out on top.

The final game of the morning session features Warriors FC and Parikrma FC. Warriors are coming off a good win against FK FC in GW 7 and will be looking to build on that performance. After their loss to Supernova FC in GW 7, Parikrma may have surrendered their title challenge, but with promotion still up grabs, they will be looking to go all out. Both teams have potent attacks and another goal fest seems to be on the cards.

Netbusters will be looking to make it three wins in a row when they take on Phoenix FC in the first game of the afternoon session. Netbusters are coming off an impressive come-back win against Diego FC in GW 7, but must keep the Phoenix attack in check if they are able to repeat that performance. On the other hand, Phoenix has shown glimpses of good attacking football but haven’t clicked into gear as of yet; but with only two games to go, now would be the time to put their plan into action.

2:45 PM – Diego FC v FK FC
The final game of the day has Diego FC pitted against Phoenix FC. Diego FC have played good football over the past few games but a lack of positional discipline has cost them points. FK FC is still winless but has shown cohesion in attack over the past few games and would feel now is the right time to get off the mark. But if they are to get that win, they will need to figure out a way to break Diego’s compact defence. Diego can get back into the race for fifth if they win this game.
