Where should Gareth Bale go?

Tottenham Hotspur v Sunderland - Premier League

Gareth Bale completed a double this season by winning both the PFA Players’ Player of the Year as well as the PFA Young Player of the Year. The boy, whom Spurs signed from the Saints, has finally come of age.

Gareth Bale has been the subject of constant speculation with a bevy of clubs interested to secure his services. Latest speculation states Real Madrid are on the verge of bringing him to Santiago Bernabeu. Even the Red Devils are interested in bringing him to Old Trafford. Meanwhile, Villas Boas is confident of keeping him at White Hart Lane. The question which arises is “Where should Gareth Bale go?”

The possibility of Villas Boas keeping him at White Hart lane is next to none. After Bale declared his desire to play in the Champions League and Spurs failing to qualify yet again for the second time, it is highly unlikely that the Player of the Year will stay.

The capital city of Spain seems to be the most likely destination for the young man. With Barcelona securing the services of Neymar, Real will break the bank to sign Bale. Even Zidane made it clear that Madrid will do everything possible to secure his services.

But, if Manchester united come knocking, that is where the young Welshman should depart. At Old Trafford, Bale will definitely improve and mature even further. Moreover, he can also emulate his boyhood hero Ryan Giggs. He is Welsh, a pacy winger, has the ability to run riots through the defenses and plays on the left. With Giggs on the other side of 40, it will be a great opportunity for him to establish himself. He could also be the replacement Manchester United have struggled to find for the Legend. Ashley Young is hardly the replacement for the left wing at the Theater of Dreams. The Welshman could make the left flank his own as his hero did back in 1991.

However, if he wishes to play as a Blanco next season, it would be too early a move for him to make. Madrid is the team of Galacticos’. Bale would have to fight out for a place in the starting XI, with Cristiano also playing on the left. Even if Madrid move Ronny to the right forcing Di Maria out, Bale is not irreplaceable. Madrid can easily break the bank if any other youngster like Bale emerges in the upcoming seasons.

At Madrid, Gareth Bale can become a winner but at Old Trafford, he will become a winner and a legend, just like his hero.

For the time being, let the Transfer Saga unfold itself. Only time will tell whether Madrid will be lucky enough to sign the Welshman or will the Welshman be lucky enough to play at the Theater of Dreams.
